Using Maths talk
This year we have been using maths talk in our maths group. This has really got us talking about our maths and using a lot of maths vocabulary. Here is a video of us using maths talk to sum up the end of our lesson on dividing fractions.
Kia ora Galilee Math learners, I am SUPER impressed with your math talk. You are using some great words to describe what you are doing. You def made me remember all about fractions and how we can simplify them! Do you find it easy to use math talk in your groups? Is it good to listen to each other and learn from each other? Tania
Hello Tania I'm Samantha & I am in this maths group. Thank you for the comment. All of us find maths talk pretty easy and it certainly helps our learning as we when we get something wrong we can revise our answer from what we have been told by one another. It is also really good to listen to each other as I have noticed that sometimes when it comes from the teacher some of us get confused,but when it comes from our friends it is easier to understand (not always).
