Mathematical Strategies

Kia ora koutou!  Thanks for visiting our class blog.   We have been looking at some mathematical strategies.  We needed to learn these to help us figure out problems involving large numbers.  We have created a class slideshow with our strategies.  We hope you can learn from our explanations!

Meet our class!

Kia ora, we have just finished making some introductions so that our new Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atu buddies can learn about us.   We have been talking about ourselves and the things we like.  We are looking forward to blogging with our new buddy class.  Please have a look through this slideshow and learn a bit about the people in Hiruharama - Jerusalem.

Learning about Pablo Picasso

This term we have looked at Pablo Picasso and his different art styles.  Did you know he had a period of four years where he only painted in shades of blue or green?  He has many different styles that he can paint.  We did our own research and then we created our own portrait using one of his styles of Art.  have a look at what Leevy, Alyssa and  Meesha created!

Welcome to 2019

We are looking forward to a massive year of learning in 2019.

You might have noticed that the name of our blog has changed.  The name and structure of our class has also changed.   We are called Jerusalem and we are now a class of year 7 and 8 children with only one teacher - Mrs Bellis.     We have a lot of interesting learning activities on the go - watch out for future posts that showcase our amazing learning.

We have been creating our own Heroes and Villains.  We are writing back stories and creating outfits.

Heroes and Villains

Kia ora.  This term we have Heroes and Villains as our theme.  We have been researching our own  choice of heroes and villains. Check out the learning tasks and reflections that Nicole has done.  We are in awe of the effort she has put in.  We particularly love the dramatisation of her information report about Ned Kelly.  It is in four parts and it is well worth watching all four to get the whole story.  Please leave a positive, helpful, thoughtful comment and tell us what you think!
