Yes we did it! We went to Rugby Park this morning to join in with all the other schools in Greymouth and took part in an attempt to break the world record hi five.
A big thank you to all the parents who helped take the children there and bring them back again.
Watch us on the news!

Visitors from Antarctica
We had some American visitors who had just been come back from Antarctica. Miss Alex is a teacher who works at a museum in Memphis. She came to share all about her trip and her research into the Weddell seals. We all learnt about the difference between seals and sea lions. Imagine our surprise when we found out that Fur Seals are actually sea lions!

Can you believe it is week 4 already?
Where has the time gone? Our hubs have been working very hard at getting to know each other and learning the new routines of Galilee. We have our new chrome books and have been learning all about the kawa of care. We have also been learning about being cyber smart learners.
We have already had swim week and our school swimming sports and we have had Carmen and Harold from Life Education visiting us. We are looking forward to trying to break a new world record on Friday at Rugby Park.

Welcome 2016
Welcome to 2016
By now you have seen that our classes are very different this year. We are 3 hubs, Capernaum, Jerusalem and Cana. Together we make up Galilee. The year has started with a bang and we have looked at many things this first week.
We have examined our classroom rules and what they meant to us:
Learning is our focus
Respect our environment
Respect our property
Respect each other
Each learner is part of a Tuakana/Teina partnership and together they have been exploring our classroom site and how to work efficiently on our chromebooks.
